  • ABS Polymer build
  • Licensed Walther Trademarks
  • Set includes: Mock suppressor, 2 magazines

If you're into the most modern real steel pistol designs and simply must collect them all, the Umarex WALTHER PDP Compact 4" Spring Operated Airsoft Pistol is a great excuse to add a PDP to the collection! Made almost entirely from ABS polymer, this spring-operated pistol is not really a skirmish-competitive platform, but is a great way to get young family members into the sport with safety as a priority!

The set includes the PDP itself, a mock suppressor and two magazines, one of which is a gravity-fed high-cap magazine which holds 100 BBs approximately. As we might expect for an officially licensed product from Umarex, realistic Walther trademarks adorn the PDP front to rear, keeping the look authentic to please collectors and movie makers seeking a suitable prop alike.

Whether you're after a humiliation-kill platform to embarrass your mates in-game, need a PDP prop which looks flawless on camera or have a younger sibling who wants to get in on the action but isn't yet ready to hit the field, the Umarex WALTHER PDP Compact 4" Spring Operated Airsoft Pistol will suit you perfectly!

Description

A remarkably detailed replica for the price, the Umarex WALTHER PDP Compact 4" Spring Operated Airsoft Pistol is made entirely from ABS polymer, though you wouldn't be able to tell from a few feet away! With realistic Walther trademarks across the design, no tell-tale exposed screwheads and a form which mirrors the real thing perfectly, this is one of the nicest springer pistols we've encountered yet; a far cry from the useless seaside specials you might find on the Scarborough or Blackpool front!

The PDP works by pulling back the slide before each shot. This loads a BB from the magazine and compresses the piston and spring, which are then released to fire a shot when the trigger is pulled. When the magazine runs empty, the slide will remain in the "locked open" position to indicate its empty status. To release the slide, simply push down on the slide lock/release catch on the left side, just below the "Walther" marking on the slide. The locking slide is a lovely touch for realism, working just like the real PDP; functionality most springer pistols simply dream of!

With two "Safety" functions built in, the PDP will certainly do its part to ensure its users enjoy shooting safely. Like the real thing, the trigger is equipped with a central blade which needs to be pressed for the PDP to shoot. This ensures an accidental touch or bump won't result in a discharge. On the right side, we also have a well-disguised trigger lock safety. When the PDP is cocked, you can activate the trigger lock by rotating it by 90 degrees so the arrow points to the discretely embossed "S" symbol. When the arrow is pointing at "F", the pistol is hot; make sure you don't point it at anything you don't intend to shoot.

Being a lower-powered platform, the PDP has the benefit of being unlikely to shoot projectiles through hedges and otherwise off your property, essential for shooting in the garden while not falling foul of the law. Despite its relatively low muzzle energy, eye protection is essential when shooting the PDP, both for the shooter and spectators.

Naturally, this isn't a competitive platform in an Airsoft skirmish, for obvious reasons. That said, this is a great humiliation-kill platform, ideal for showing up the "all the gear but no idea" types or your mates out on the field. The real strengths of this PDP springer come in the form of its simple operation, relatively low (and thus, relatively safe) power output, making ideal for future Airsoft skirmishers to learn the ropes, under adult supervision, of course.

The PDP is supplied with a mock suppressor and two magazines; one spring-loaded 13rnd mag and a 100rnd "high-cap" magazine. The high-cap doesn't work like a wheel-wound high-cap; instead, it operates using a gravity feed system. The 13rnd magazine works just like a standard springer magazine, simply load your BBs in from the front, through the feed lips at the top. You can do this by hand or with a speed loader, depending on your timescale!

To load the high-cap mag, simply lift the textured tab just above the baseplate and slide the baseplate forward until it locks into place. Next, pour your BBs in. You have now filled the internal reservoir. To load the feed track, simply pull the follower down to the bottom, invert the magazine and give it a shake. This should help encourage BBs to fill the feed track, after which you can release the follower and get busy!
