Description
If you're running a side-folder AK build and want to add a touch of modernity, the 5KU Folding AK Skeleton Stock w/Folding Butt Plate is a great way to do it. Designed similarly to the 1913 interface stocks used on cutting-edge platforms like the MPX and MCX, this stock is ultra-light and low profile, the ideal finishing touch for a modern AK build.
Constructed from aluminium to reduce weight, with a steel folding/mounting mechanism to provide strength where needed, this stock can be mounted to most AK receivers that take side-folding stocks (AKS-74, AKS-74U, AK-74M, etc.). Modification may be required for certain brands, and this won't fit fixed stock or underfolding AK receivers.
The party trick of this stock is its folding butt plate, which allows it to be folded into an ultra-slim, compact form, aiding concealment in scenario games and keeping the stock well out of the way when you are working up close with it folded. Built into its skeletonised design, the stock has a raised cheekpiece, allowing for perfect sight alignment and cheek weld.
The stock also includes a pair of QD sling sockets at the stock base, though in our tests, we found these to be non-functional. If you want to try your own QD swivels, feel free, as this may be down to a tolerance issue, though we recommend giving the swivel a good, hard yank to ensure it is locked in before entrusting it with the weight of your RIF.
Whether you're decking your AK out US civilian tactical-style or looking for ways to reduce weight, the 5KU Folding AK Skeleton Stock w/Folding Butt Plate will make a great addition to your build.
