Description
Starting at the front, we can find a QDC-style 3-prong flash hider made from steel, mounted to the 14mm CCW male threads at the tip of the 20-inch alloy outer barrel. The QDC is a great fit for this SR-25 PR-style build, but can be replaced with a suppressor or tracer unit easily thanks to the common 14mm CCW male threading. A PTS Dead Air Sandman-L suppressor would really suit this DMR-style build, but beware, it is already rather long as it is!
Next up, we come to the handguard, which is a great replica of the real steel URX4, featuring M-LOK negative space attachment slots at the 3, 6, & 9 o'clock positions with additional slots at the offset angles, ready for M-LOK accessories.
Running along the top, we have a 20mm Picatinny rail which runs all the way back to the receiver, mating seamlessly with the receiver rail. This gives you plenty of space to mount your choice of optical sight, whether it's a simple red dot sight or a full-sized LPVO or rifle scope.
QD sling sockets are also present on either side of the handguard, allowing the QD sling swivels to be fitted for a slick modern sling setup, which is easy to remove and remount.
Moving rearwards, we come to the receiver, which is a modernised design with angled surfaces and a reprofiled brass deflector. The usual forward-assist bulge found aft of the brass deflector has been deleted entirely, keeping the look in line with real steel KAC precision rifle builds.
On top of the receiver rail, we can find our rear flip-up iron sight, a close match for real steel KAC irons. Adjustments for windage and elevation are applied via the dial on the right side and the rotary ring around the sight aperture, respectively.
The controls are conventionally laid out for those accustomed to an M4/AR-15 replica, with the fire selector positioned just above the pistol grip on the left side, well within reach of the shooter's thumb when the rifle is held in a firing grip.
The fire selector offers 3 modes in a SAFE-SEMI-AUTO layout with a 90-degree throw between each selector position. To appropriately simulate the real thing, the auto position is not marked. With a Kestrel V2 Basic ETU on board, you can also program for 3-round burst or binary trigger.
The mag release is on the right side of the magwell, just like an M4, making for an easy transition for those accustomed to the SR-25's smaller sibling. This is a push-through button with a textured surface, allowing it to be easily pressed in wet weather or when wearing gloves.
Just below, we can find the trigger guard, which is a KAC-style enlarged example, a feature present on many modern Knights-inspired builds. This gives you easy access to the trigger when wearing full-finger gloves and provides a finger ledge on each side, providing a place to index your trigger finger between shots.
At the top rear of the receiver, we can find the charging handle, which is constructed from alloy. Pulling the charging handle will open the dust cover and retract the mock bolt, revealing the rotary HOP-up inside. Turning the dial allows you to tune the SR-25 PR for different ammo weights, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. When you've finished adjusting, hit the "ping pong paddle" bolt catch on the left side of the receiver or the ambi bolt catch on the right to release the mock bolt with a satisfying "clank".
The pistol grip of the CM.098B is an ergonomic design based on a popular modern AR-15 grip, featuring a filled-out backstrap and textured panels on either side. As with most M4/AR-15 AEGs, this grip is compatible with aftermarket M4/AR-15 AEG grips, ideal for customisation addicts!
At the rear of the receiver, we are treated to an ambidextrous sling plate, offering loops on either side for "hook" slings. The sling plate is a fantastic single-point sling mounting option but can also be used with the front QD sling sockets on the handguard or the two on the stock, providing plenty of configuration options for two-point sling users.
At the rear, we have the prolific M4/AR-15 buffer tube, constructed from alloy and offering 6 adjustment positions for the pre-installed battery stock. The adjustment lever of the stock is on the bottom; a low-profile design intended to reduce equipment snags, a considerable improvement over the ageing crane battery stock design.
A QD sling socket is present on either side, along with conventional "footman loops" for standard strap slings. The butt plate is rubberised and serrated for optimal wet-weather traction and hinges open for easy battery access via the button in the centre.
With the button in the centre of the butt plate pulled down, the butt plate will hinge open around the toe of the stock, revealing a Deans battery connector inside. We recommend an 11.1V 1450mAh LiPo battery in crane/nunchuck configuration, but buffer tube stick-type batteries should also work.
The highlight of this revamped CM.098 Gen.2 build is its Kestrel Basic ETU/MOSFET, offering 6 levels of adjustable pre-cocking, options for 3-round burst and binary trigger, along with low battery warning, cycle completion, active braking and low/high voltage cutoff.
This means you can crank up the trigger response for super-fast double taps or run the CM.098 with SAFE-SEMI-3RND BURST fire controls. Also inside is a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and rotary HOP-up unit, giving you superb accuracy potential and the latest HOP-up design for M4/AR-15 platforms.
The gearbox shell is also reinforced in all the key places for a long lifespan, and inside you will find 18:1 CNC steel gears, a CNC-machined nozzle, 8mm ball bearing bushings, a CNC-machined aluminium silent piston head and cylinder head set, a polycarbonate piston with a full rack of steel teeth and a ball bearing quick-change spring guide. The motor is also a high-torque Neodymium magnet example, providing a stunning trigger response and the ability to pull strong DMR springs.

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
