Quick Start Guide

• Charge your Battery: Place your battery inside your Battery Safe Charging Bag. Next, plug your charger into a 3-Plug UK wall socket and connect the Balance connector (small white connector) to the corresponding socket on your LiPo balance charger. Some balance chargers also require you to connect the power cable (Deans or Mini-Tamiya). Your charger will cut off when your battery reaches capacity, but you should never leave it on charge unattended.
• Load your magazine: Open the feed hatch on the top of your High-cap magazine. Pour BBs in until full.
• Wind your magazine: Wind the wheel on the bottom of your magazine 5-10 times or until the noise changes and the wheel becomes firm.
• Put on your Eye Protection: Safety when using Airsoft guns should be your number 1 priority. Always wear eye protection before loading your AEG and ensure any spectators are also protected.
• Connect your battery: Remove the butt plate from your stock by pressing the tabs on either side at the "toe" of the stock, pushing the tabs through to the rear, then lifting it free. Inside the central tube, you'll find the mini-Tamiya connector. Position each of the cell groups of your battery inside the tubes on either side of the stock, then connect the mini-Tamiya connectors. With your wiring neatly tucked in, replace the butt plate.
• Insert your magazine: With the fire selector switch set to "SAFE" and the barrel pointed in a safe direction with your finger off the trigger, insert your magazine by pushing it up into the magazine well.
• You're now ready to shoot! - Never shoot at animals or humans who aren't in an Airsoft skirmish

Platform Details

Starting at the front, we can see a polymer birdcage flash hider mounted to the 14mm CCW male threading at the tip of the 14.5-inch alloy outer barrel. The threaded barrel makes the CM.507 ready to be kitted out with a tracer unit for CQB specialists or a suppressor for a stealthy skirmisher, though the pre-installed birdcage device completes the military-issue look.

Next up, we come to the M4A1-style triangular front sight post, which houses the front sight and mock bayonet lug. The bayonet lug is functional on this rifle, allowing you to equip a Dummy Bayonet for aesthetics. The front sight itself is an iconic part of the ever-recognisable M4A1 silhouette, present on the US Army's M4A1 along with the Royal Marine Commando's L119A1 CQB.

Mounted to the bottom of the front sight assembly, we have our first sling point, an alloy footman loop compatible with a wide variety of sling types. This can be paired with any of the three sling mounting options at the rear of the rifle to fit a two-point sling to take the burden off your arms or allow for easy transitions to a sidearm.

Following the front sight, we come to the handguard, which replicates the real steel US Army-issued M4A1. The handguards are made from lightweight ABS polymer equipped with 20mm Picatinny rails at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock, ready for accessories, from foregrips to lasers and flashlights. The handguards are made in two parts, allowing you to remove the lower handguard and mount an M203 grenade launcher to the barrel if you fancy some extra firepower!

Moving rearward, we reach the receiver, an M4/AR-15 milspec design with a 3-position fire selector switch and all the details a proper replica needs. The receiver is constructed from high-density polymer with a matt black finish and features a unique serial number just above the trigger.

The fire selector switch is located on the left side, directly above the pistol grip, to provide fast and easy access for right-handed shooters. The fire selector's 90-degree throw between modes makes it quick to operate but not too easy to accidentally knock it and end up in the wrong fire mode. Each fire mode is indicated with recessed text, reading "SAFE - SEMI - AUTO", just like a real M4A1 rifle.

At the centre of the left side of the receiver, we can find the "ping pong paddle" dummy bolt release catch, which doesn't have a function in an Airsoft AEG but is included to keep the externals looking realistic. The bolt release is a separate part, which is a nice touch to avoid the tell-tale signs that this is an Airsoft gun and not the real deal.

Over on the right side of the receiver, we can see what is known as the forward assist button, located on the upper receiver behind the mock shell deflector. This button also has no function in Airsoft, but serves to force the real M4/AR-15 bolt carrier into the battery if it fails to close. The button can be pressed and is also a separate part, keeping things visually accurate to the real thing.

The magazine release is on the right side of the magazine well, ideally positioned to be pressed with the trigger finger from a firing grip for right-handed users. Left-handed users can use their support hand thumb to press the release, and this can be done quickly with practice. The mag release is textured to provide the necessary grip, and is protected from accidental presses by the "magwell fence", a raised protrusion in the receiver which stops the release from catching on your gear as you move.

This rifle comes with an iconic M4 carry handle, which has the rear iron sight built in. It features a ghost ring design with a choice of two sizes, one for close range and low-light, and one for long range and bright conditions. Elevation is adjustable using the large dial found beneath the aperture; a clockwise rotation raises the sight, and anti-clockwise lowers it. The carry handle is constructed from lightweight polymer, and we recommend that you don't carry this AEG just by the handle.

At the top rear of the receiver, you'll find the charging handle, which doesn't need to be pulled before the first shot. Instead, this serves to open the dust cover and retract the mock bolt carrier, revealing the rotary HOP-up adjuster inside.

The adjustable HOP-up unit allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and tune the CM.507 for your ammo weight of choice, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. We recommend using 0.25g BBs as they are great for both indoor and outdoor skirmishes.

As we reach the rear, we come to the 5-position M4/AR-15 buffer tube, offering 5 adjustment positions for the pre-installed Crane stock. Adjusting the stock is as simple as pressing the lever on the bottom and sliding it into your position of choice, accounting for almost any body type or loadout.

The prolific Crane stock features comfortable sloped cheek pieces and a rubber butt plate for optimal traction in any weather conditions. Also built into the Crane design are a pair of sling slots for a simple strap sling, but you can add a loop of paracord to allow hook slings to be mounted.

Between the stock and receiver, we have a polymer CQD-style sling plate, but we don't recommend using this with single-point slings as it puts a lot of strain on this polymer part. If you want to run a single-point sling, we recommend adding a metal CQD sling plate in place of the pre-installed polymer example.

Special Instructions

Please note that the buffer tube sling plate on the CM.507 is constructed from polymer, and we do not recommend using it as it may not be up to the task of supporting the weight of the AEG, especially with a single-point sling.

We recommend using the sling slots on the stock and pairing them with the front sling point on the front sight/gas block to mount a two-point sling. If you're after a cheap sling, we recommend the 8Fields Simple Strap Sling, as it can be woven through the sling slots on the CM.507 without adding sling adapters/sling hardware.
