Delta Armory DA-PAR-14 PROARMS® PAR MK3 14.5" M4/AR-15 AEG

If you're looking for an AR that does it all but looks like nothing else, get eyes on the Delta Armory DA-PAR-14 PROARMS® PAR MK3 14.5". The real PROARMS PAR originates in the Czech Republic as a military/civilian AR-15 design offered to both military and police units and competitive shooters. The real PAR stands out thanks to its CNC aluminium receiver, replacing the usual forged and machined AR receiver giving it a flawless finish and fresh look next to older AR platforms. 

The Airsoft version is no different, rocking a 6063 aluminium receiver and handguard with some of the most precise engraved trademarks we have ever seen on an Airsoft gun. The internals are similarly sweet, boasting the best internal parts from the Delta Armory ALPHA ETU series, including reinforced parts from SHS, a high torque Neodymium magnet motor and a programmable MOSFET/ETU system. 

There are plenty of cutting-edge ARs out there with fancy handguards but the PAR MK3 breathes new life into the entire build of the ageing AR platform with a full external overhaul and the result is absolutely jaw-dropping!

Starting at the front, we can find a birdcage flash hider mounted to the 14mm CCW male threads at the tip of the carbine length 14.5" outer barrel. The birdcage looks great, but can easily be replaced with a tracer unit for an instinct-aiming edge in low light or a suppressor for the stealthy aesthetic. The 14.5" version of the PAR is ideal for either outdoors or indoors skirmishing, leaning more into long range performance and with a suppressor added, it makes a fantastic DMR base gun. 

Moving rearwards, we come to the CNC 6063 aluminium handguard; equipped with 20mm Picatinny rails at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions, ready for any 20mm Picatinny accessories you choose to mount. The handguard is similar in profile to the HK416, being slightly taller than a standard M4/AR-15 handguard to match the real thing. The front end of each rail is dynamically bevelled and oblong ports punctuate the rail surfaces to reduce weight for improved handling and easier target-to-target transitions. The handguard of the 16" version measures a healthy 12 inches in length, meaning you have all the room you could ever need to mount a massive rifle scope, bipod, PEQ or DBAL and much more!

On the top of the handguard, we can find our front flip-up iron sight which is spring-loaded, requiring a press on the textured surface at the rear to deploy. The rear sight is mounted to the receiver rail and functions the same way; simply press the button and up it pops. Elevation adjustments are applied on the front sight using an AR-15 front sight adjustment tool and windage on the rear sight via the dial on the right side. The rear sight also features two apertures, a fine one for bright conditions and accurate semi-auto fire and a wider one for low light scenarios and full auto. 

Following the handguard, we come to the receiver which is also CNC machined from high-grade 6063 aluminium, making it a significant step up from the usual alloy receiver. The machining is absolutely immaculate, with sharp details and precisely engraved PROARMS trademarks on both the left and right side of the magazine well. Using real steel images for reference, the Delta Armory PAR 14.5" is bang-on perfect, with all the correct angles, protrusions and the combination forward assist/brass deflector budge machined exactly like the real thing. While it may not be an H&K, there is no compromise to be found in the PAR!

The layout of the controls matches other M4/AR-15 platforms, meaning no need to retrain if you are used to a standard AR despite the unique receiver of the PAR MK3. The fire selector is positioned just above the pistol grip and offers 3 modes of fire; SAFE, SEMI and AUTO, with a 90-degree throw between each mode. This makes the selector easy to switch, but not so easy that it can be knocked out of position accidentally. Each mode is denoted with crisply engraved bullet pictograms but the full auto mode is unmarked as the real PAR MK3 is semi-automatic only. No need to worry, the full auto mode on the Delta Armory PAR MK3 is still present in the third selector position as with any other M4. The magazine release is on the right side of the magazine well and is accessible for a right-handed user with the tip of the trigger finger.

Pulling back the charging handle, located at the top rear of the receiver will open the dust cover and retract the mock bolt carrier to allow access to the rotary HOP-up adjuster. This is the latest HOP-up unit design for the M4/AR-15 and provides finer increments of adjustment and holds its setting more effectively when compared to the older gear style HOP-up unit. The charging handle has an extended latch for easier access, allowing even those with thick gloves to access the HOP-up unit, though you may need to take off a glove to turn the adjuster! 

The pistol grip of the PAR MK3 boasts a refined grip angle for greater comfort when shooting with the stock fully collapsed and in more modern shooting stances. Based on the real steel "Gunfighter mod.3" grip, a modern ergonomic design, each flank of the pistol grip includes fine texturing for perfect wet weather handling. The trigger is known by Delta Armory as the CNC Type A Flat trigger, offering a flat serrated front surface with a short finger ledge, ideal for rapid double taps.

At the rear of the receiver, we come to the steel CQD style sling plate, which offers ambidextrous functionality with single-point slings; perfect for left or right-handed shooters. The steel construction of the sling plate practically guarantees even if you mount a massive rifle scope, PEQ box and RunCam, the sling plate will be strong enough to support the weight. Following the sling plate, we come to the good old AR buffer tube, constructed from alloy and offering 6 adjustment positions for the pre-installed stock, or any other M4/AR-15 AEG stock you choose to mount!

The stock itself is a crane-inspired design with a slimline form and a comfortable angled cheek rest, featuring a QD sling socket on either side, together with conventional "footman loops", aka sling slots. With a rubber butt plate featuring lattice checkering, this slimline crane stock stays solidly in your shoulder in any weather conditions but can be swapped for alternative M4/AR-15 AEG stocks if you want to change up the looks or have a preferred stock in mind for your build. 

The buffer tube also serves as the battery compartment for the PAR MK3. To access the battery compartment, you will need to pull the stock adjustment lever (located on the bottom of the stock) out and hold it in place, after which you can slide the stock off the buffer tube, revealing a Deans/T-Plug battery connector inside. We recommend a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo in stick configuration for the PAR MK3 though you may need to keep the stock extended to fit this battery inside. Delta Armory recommends a LiPo battery measuring 1.4 x 1.9 x 10 cm approximately for full functionality of the sliding stock. 

Inside the version 2 gearbox, we are treated to CNC 18:1 ratio steel gears running on 7mm ball bearing bushings, an SHS piston with a full rack of steel teeth, an SHS tappet plate for reliable feeding, and a CNC aluminium piston head, cylinder head and nozzle for maximum long term durability. The cylinder is also CNC machined from steel, as is the spring guide.

These ultra-strong CNC parts are powered by a high-torque motor with Neodymium magnets, kept in check by the ETU/MOSFET system. The result is an incredible trigger response and an impressive rate of fire, allowing you to make the most of the flat CNC type A trigger for some seriously rapid double taps. The party trick of the ETU/MOSFET is the ability to program the fire controls for burst mode, binary trigger and pre-cocking, allowing you to improve hit probability at long range without wasting ammo with full auto.
