Description

If you need a licensed sidearm which can handle winter cold, the EMG R612-4A Staccato 2011 Hi-Capa C2 Comp; CO2 Version is one to watch. This full-metal Hi-Capa GBB platform is a replica of the STACCATO Firearms C2 Comp, a high-end real-steel 2011 pistol equipped with all the state-of-the-art modern features, from its optics-ready slide to its stylish compensator. This Airsoft variant is powered by 12g CO2 bulbs (not included), giving it better cold-weather performance and harder recoil than the green gas version.

Blending competition and combat styling and equipped with a pre-installed compensator and suppressor-height iron sights, the Staccato C2 is at the bleeding edge of modern pistol ergonomics and is a pleasure to handle with plenty of accessory options built in. Whether you want to add a laser, red dot sight, torch or tracer, the Staccato is ready!

Starting at the front, we can note the short 3.8-inch outer barrel and shortened slide of this STACCATO variant, making it ideal for skirmishers seeking a more compact sidearm to save space and weight on the belt. The shorter slide also pushes up the cyclic rate thanks to reduced overall weight, resulting in impressive rapid-fire performance from this bite-sized 'Capa.

At the tip of the barrel, we find a pre-installed compensator with a dynamic shape and a massive port up top. In real steel form, the compensator is designed to reduce muzzle rise, like a muzzle brake for rifles. In Airsoft terms, this simply adds a cutting-edge look. At the front of the comp, we have 11mm CW female threading, meaning you can add a tracer unit or suppressor if you add an 11mm CW thread adapter.

The C2 Comp variant of the STACCATO comes with a pre-installed red dot sight mounting plate designed for RMR footprint optics, allowing you to get busy with a red dot-equipped pistol without the usual troubles with sourcing the correct plate. Most RMR footprint/mounting standard sights will go straight on.

The slide itself features serrations at the front and rear, allowing you to cock the pistol before the first shot from the front or back with maximum traction. The front serrations are flawlessly machined and look fantastic, giving the C2 Comp a more aggressive look than most other Hi-Capa platforms.

Through the ejection port on the right side of the slide, we get a glimpse of the dark, shiny outer barrel and cleanly engraved 9x19 calibre markings. This adds to the realistic appearance, perfect for those who value authenticity in their sidearm.

Moving down to the frame, we have a shortened 20mm Picatinny rail at the front of the shortened frame that matches the slide and barrel length, while still allowing you to mount a tactical flashlight or laser-aiming module. The rail has a single slot, just like its real-steel STACCATO sibling, but fortunately, this is in the perfect spot for an X300, XH35 or X400 style illuminator.

On either side of the frame rail, we are treated to yet more trademarks, with "STACCATO C2" on the right side and "2011" on the left, just like the real thing. The trademarks are flawlessly engraved and highly detailed, a big step up from the non-licensed Capas out there.

The adjustable HOP-up unit of the C2 Comp is located on the bottom of the outer barrel and is accessible with the slide removed, in "field stripped" condition. To remove the slide, you will first need to remove the magazine and rack the slide to cock the hammer. With this done, you can pull the slide back to align the slide lock lever with the rearmost cutout on the left side of the slide.

With the slide in this position, you can push the slide release catch through from the right side of the frame, after which the slide can be slid forward and removed from the front of the pistol. The adjustable HOP-up allows you to tune the C2 Comp for different ammo weights and extend your range, adjusting the dial until the trajectory is as flat as possible.

Rearwards of the frame rail, we come to the trigger guard moulded in the grip, as is the common design with Hi-Capa/2011 platforms. This trigger guard sports slight undercuts, intended to facilitate a secure grip for more effective recoil control.

The trigger guard leads to the biggest visual difference between the original and this upgraded version: an aggressive hand-stippled grip for maximum traction in all weather conditions. Also present is the super-cool STACCATO logo, a stylised star discretely embossed on each side of the grip, completing the iconic STACCATO look.

In terms of controls, the C2 Comp will be very familiar to anyone who has handled a Hi-Capa or 1911 platform before, rocking the classic "beavertail" grip safety at the rear of the grip, designed to prevent the pistol from being fired when gripped improperly.

The manual safety is ambidextrous and has a slightly enlarged profile, allowing both left and right-handed shooters to carry "cocked and locked" and get on target quickly, with the added benefit that the safeties can be used as a thumb rest for improved recoil control.

At the base of the grip, we can find a magazine well extension, otherwise known as a flared magwell. This allows for faster reloads by guiding the magazine in, making speedy reloads with adrenaline coursing through your veins far more achievable, especially on the move.

While this flare isn't as large as the one used on the competition-optimised XL Variant, it is more substantial than the original C2, providing combat-optimised features like its cutout for retention reloads and its flat sides to reduce snag potential. With experience, the magwell flare can also allow for reloading on the move and "eyes-up" reloads, allowing you to continue to scan for targets as you bring your platform back online.

The magazine release is right where we would expect: on the left side of the grip, well within reach of the shooter's thumb when the C2 Comp is held in a firing grip. The steel mag release is a standard-sized example with a slightly raised profile, making it easy to reach but not so easy that you lose your mag in the heat of combat.

Both the trigger and hammer are skeletonised, reducing weight and keeping the styling in line with the real steel STACCATO C2 Comp and most other modern Hi-Capa platforms. The hammer is also made from robust steel, providing incredible strength while keeping the profile minimalist, just like real STACCATO 2011 platforms.

Inside, the Staccato C2 Comp is based on the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa, meaning most Hi-Capa upgrade parts should fit, but may need modification. This pistol comes well-equipped with reinforced, upgraded parts, boasting steel hammer group parts and a steel hammer to go with its new CNC-machined external parts. The inner barrel is a 6.03mm tightbore, raising FPS and improving accuracy potential as long as you do your part.

If you love aggressive styling in a combat-ready sidearm packed with practical features and accessory options, you're in good hands with the EMG R612-4A Staccato 2011 Hi-Capa C2 Comp; CO2 Version! With quality that is hard to believe, licensed trademarks and robust steel internals, the C2 Comp means business!
