Bollé Safety SI: Ballistic Rated Airsoft Safety Glasses and Goggles - Why Choose BSSI?

Bollé Safety SI: Ballistic Rated Airsoft Safety Glasses and Goggles - Why Choose BSSI?

BSSI: Bollé Safety Standard Issue

BSSI is the latest line of tactical ballistic glasses and goggles from Bollé Safety, a brand Airsofters across the world have put their trust in for decades. Many of us here started skirmishing with Bollé, and have stuck with Bollé throughout our skirmishing careers as there simply isn't a better combination of quality, affordability, and protection out there. All Bollé Safety S.I eyewear is rated to withstand Airsoft projectiles, and is designed with tactical applications in mind.

The importance of wearing high-quality eye protection for Airsoft skirmishing cannot be overstated, and the consequences of buying cheap, off-brand Airsoft goggles can be life-altering in a worst-case scenario. Buying BSSI glasses or goggles for Airsoft skirmishing guarantees your eyes will be protected to the fullest extent, whilst also providing the tactical styling Bollé Safety is known for!

Bollé Safety SI Rush + Airsoft Safety Spectacles

imageThe Rush + safety glasses are constructed with a single piece lens to allow for greater strength, additional light transmission and a less obscured view of the environment. The glasses feature a non-slip nose bridge, ensuring that they will not fly off your face during dynamic movements. The BSSI Rush + glasses are available in both small and standard sizing, with a range of lens finishes on offer to suit any environment, weather condition and requirement.

For CQB use or for added security, BSSI also provides an optional goggle strap which can be purchased separately and added to the Rush + to further secure the goggles to your head, as well as a "full seal" kit which includes a goggle strap and a replacement nylon frame to close the gap between the lens and the wearers face for maximum protection.

imageThe Rush + glasses have a streamlined, sporty look, stepping away from the clunky and blocky appearance of standard safety glasses. This sleek form also makes them easy to combine with lower face protection or a helmet. As can be expected of a BSSI product, the Rush + glasses are rated to EN 166 and EN 172 standards, and comply with NATO STANAG 2920 / MIL-PRF-32432A standards for military ballistic glasses. These glasses are a great multi-purpose choice, and their sporty style makes them as suitable for skirmishing as they are for mountain biking, hiking or other outdoors activities. The Rush + glasses are also available in a smaller size which makes them well suited to younger skirmishers.

Bollé Safety SI Silex + Airsoft Safety Spectacles

image The Silex + safety glasses are constructed with a single piece lens to allow for greater strength, additional light transmission and a less obscured view of the environment. The frame is a rimless type, giving you full use of your peripheral vision and minimising obstructions. The BSSI Silex + glasses have an aggressive, tactical look, so if you are going full operator with your loadout the Silex + will suit the look perfectly.

The BSSI Silex + glasses feature a non-slip nose bridge, ensuring that they will not fly off your face during dynamic movements and that you get a comfortable and secure fit. The frame of the Silex + glasses is constructed from flexible polycarbonate and TPR, allowing some extra flex to ensure the glasses fit any user without creating pressure points at the temple which can become uncomfortable.

imageBSSI Glasses are available in several different lens tints, including smoked, clear and CSP, making them suitable for any environment and ambient lighting condition. Whichever lens tint you choose, you can rest easy knowing the lens has been treated with BSSI PLATINUM lens coating, increasing its resistance to scratches and reducing the probability of the lens fogging. Just like the other BSSI eye protection offerings, the Silex + complies with EN166, EN172 and NATO STANAG 2920 / MIL-PRF-32432A standards for ballistic rated eye protection.

Bollé Safety SI Contour 2 Airsoft Safety Glasses

imageThe Contour 2 safety glasses are an older Bollé Safety design which has been revamped for the BSSI line due to the popularity of its discrete, tactical frame style which allows them to pass as "civy" sunglasses for everyday wear. Each pair of Contour 2 glasses are constructed with a wraparound style frame for perfect comfort and an optimal fit, with a non-slip nose bridge and non-slip tip grips at the temples, ensuring that they will not fly off your face during dynamic movements.

Many of our staff wear Contours for outdoors skirmishes due to their comfortable design and dependable Bollé ballistic lenses. Their low profile frame makes them comfortable to wear with or without face protection and can be an asset in hot weather when full seal goggles can cause overheating issues.

imageThe lenses of the Contour 2 glasses are treated with the same BSSI PLATINUM lens coating sported by the other goggles and glasses in the BSSI lineup, and also comply with EN166, EN172 and NATO STANAG 2920 / MIL-PRF-32432A standards for ballistic rated eye protection. The Contour 2 provides the protection you need whilst maintaining a stylish civilian look and avoiding design aspects which signal that these are protective eyewear for Airsoft skirmishing. If you are looking for protective eyewear with a discrete look which doesn't scream "safety glasses", the Contour 2 glasses would be perfect to keep the civilian style whilst keeping your eyes safe on the field.

Bollé Safety SI Tryon Airsoft Safety Spectacles

imageIf you prefer a pair of low profile safety spectacles, the BSSI Tryon is made with you in mind! The frame of the Tryon glasses is a "half-frame" type, giving you a full panoramic view and minimising obstructions to your vision, allowing you to make the most of your peripheral vision for maximum situational awareness in-game. The Tryon safety glasses feature an adjustable nose bridge to allow for comfortable wear for any user and provide a super secure fit suitable for the energetic movement associated with an intense skirmish environment.

Not unlike the Silex + glasses, the Tryon glasses have a menacing look which fits well with a modern military or special forces loadout. The Tryon glasses have a smaller overall form than the Silex + and benefit from lower overall weight whilst keeping superb optical clarity and wide lenses for all-encompassing protection.

imageTo facilitate their use by Militaries and First Responders, the Tryon safety specs are rated to EN166 and EN172 standards for ballistic eyewear, as well as being compliant with NATO STANAG 2920 / MIL-PRF-32432A. This makes the Tryon glasses suitable for both Airsoft skirmishing or shooting real firearms, whether it is in a Military or civilian context. For a quality pair of low profile ballistic eyewear, the Tryon from Bollé Safety SI are a great choice with a look which fits in well with practically any Airsoft skirmishing loadout.

Bollé Safety SI Chronosoft Full Seal Safety Goggles

imageIf you want the added security of a pair of full seal goggles, BSSI has you covered in the form of the Chronosoft Full Seal Safety Goggles. If you wear prescription glasses, you will be happy to hear that these goggles will fit over the vast majority of glasses frames out there, and provide exceptional protection and comfort thanks to their forward-thinking design and the high quality materials used in their construction. The Chronosoft features a dual lens, constructed from ballistic rated polycarbonate for maximum protection, heat resistance, and anti-fogging qualities.

The frame of the Chronosoft is constructed from heat resistant "Elastomer", a highly elastic polymer which guarantees comfort, even in a dynamic environment coupled with lower face protection and a helmet. The strap of the Chronosoft has a flexible and wide elastic strap which works perfectly to hold the goggles securely and comfortably on your head with no chance of movement causing discomfort, and avoiding the classic "red line on the head" look of an Airsoft skirmisher who just spent 6 hours wearing goggles!

imageAs with the other safety specs in the BSSI lineup, the Chronosoft goggles are ballistic rated, sporting  EN 166 and EN 172 compliance together with adherence to STANAG 2920 / MIL-PRF-32432A standards for military use. The use of a dual lens system means these goggles will resist fog much more effectively than most, even before adding an anti-fog coating! If you are looking for a highly dependable full seal goggle for Airsoft skirmishing with superb fog resistance, designed with comfort and functionality in mind, you can't do much better than the BSSI Chronosoft.

Bollé Safety has definitely made a big impact on the Airsoft scene over the years, and has become a household name in eye protection thanks to their affordable and top quality offerings, both for shooting glasses and full seal tactical goggles.

Bollé Safety SI seeks to hone the Bollé line of safety spectacles and separate those glasses which are suitable for Military use with full ballistic protection from those with lower levels of protection more suited for handling dangerous chemicals and other uses. All eye protection sold under the BSSI brand adheres to both EN 166 and EN 172 standards and is also suitable for use as ballistic eyewear for Military use thanks to their STANAG 2920 / MIL-PRF-32432A compliance. This means you can rest assured that your peepers are safe and sound behind Bollé polycarbonate lenses, and the variety of styles available means you will be sure to find a BSSI piece to suit your look, either on or off the skirmish field!
