Based on the real steel Blaser R93 LRS1 (Long Range Sporter), this stylish, modern sniper rifle boasts a straight-pull action, meaning you don't need to rotate the bolt as you would with a conventional sniper rifle. This means faster follow-up shots and less movement required to work the bolt, helping you avoid drawing the eye of enemy snipers scanning for threats. If you need a sniper rifle which stands out in the safe zone but helps you blend in on the field, the King Arms R93 LRS1 is the right tool for the job!

Starting at the front, we can find a polymer muzzle brake mounted to the tip of the smooth-profile aluminium alloy outer barrel, providing a clean, modern muzzle profile and a perfect match for the real Blaser R93. The polymer muzzle brake is a compromise made to allow it to be cast in orange polymer for the US market, but King Arms offers a silencer adapter separately for those who want to add a stealthy look.

Mounted to the top of the barrel, we can find a 20mm Picatinny rail, ready for your choice of optical sight. We obviously recommend a massive rifle scope to complete the sniper rifle aesthetic. This rail is cut specifically for separate scope rings, and won't work with most one-piece scope mounts.

To the rear of the optics rail, we can find the bolt and bolt handle, an extended design in "straight pull" configuration, meaning you don't need to rotate the bolt before and after cocking: simply pull the bolt back and return it forward to load and ready the R93. The rear of the bolt has a textured surface, designed to allow you to brace your thumb on the rear of the bolt for greater control. This makes the R93 super fast to cock compared to conventional bolt actions and also reduces the movement needed to ready for the next shot, ideal for snipers who prioritise concealment.

The safety catch is located on the chassis, just behind the bolt on the right side. A recessed sliding catch with a serrated surface for optimal traction, this safety catch is easily accessible from a firing grip, while its recessed design prevents inadvertent activation. 

Next up, we'll cover the chassis of the R93, made from high-density polymer with a realistic textured finish, boasting enhanced strength and the necessary rigidity for top-notch accuracy thanks to its aluminium alloy sub-chassis. At the front of the chassis, recessed into the handguard, we can take note of the track built into the sub-chassis. 

When paired with the included bipod adapter and a Harris lug-compatible bipod (not included), the track allows you to position your bipod where you need it. With a bipod installed, the Harris lug will be firm as a rock wherever you place it, but if you're not running a bipod, you'll want to keep this part separate, as it relies on the bipod itself to attach to the rifle. 

Behind the bipod track, we can find the magazine well and mag release. The magazine release is a centrally positioned button at the front of the magazine well and is slightly raised for easy access, but recessed inside the chassis to prevent snags and accidental mag drops. The magazine itself also features a grip assist extension at the base, allowing you to easily extract it for a reload, even when wearing gloves in the thick of it. 

On the bottom of the outer barrel, above the magazine well, we can find the slider adjuster for the adjustable HOP-up unit, a VSR-like design with a tactile click with each adjustment. The click helps prevent the HOP-up from unwinding when shot with heavy BBs, an ideal design for a sniper rifle. 

The HOP-up allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and set your R93 up for different ammo weights, seeking the flattest possible trajectory. A bit of intel for upgraders: while the HOP-up unit itself is a unique design, the HOP-up bucking, inner barrel and HOP-up nub are all standard AEG spec parts, meaning upgrade potential is practically limitless!

As we move rearwards along the chassis, we can take note of the stylish weight reduction recesses, adding to the ultra-modern looks of the R93 and ensuring it stands out along VSR, L96 and other common sniper rifle designs. The aluminium alloy sub-chassis is visible on the bottom, adding strength and rigidity to the overall build and an authentic feel in the hands. 

The grip of the R93 is an ergonomic design which directly connects to the stock, featuring a supportive shape which is especially comfortable when shooting prone, the sniper's most effective firing position. The trigger is a curved design with a short and light pull, just like the real thing. Inside the trigger guard at the front, we can find the bolt release lever. When pulled down, this allows the bolt/cylinder assembly to be removed for storage or maintenance. This is quite a fiddly and difficult operation, which requires the trigger to be pulled and released as the cylinder is reinserted, so we only recommend using this feature when absolutely necessary. 

The stock itself features an adjustable cheek riser to provide a comfortable and clear sight picture. To adjust the cheek rest, remove the bolts on the right side of the stock using the included Allen key, set the cheek rest to the perfect height for you, then replace and tighten the bolts. The cheek rest offers approximately 2.5cm of adjustment range and can also be removed entirely if you need extra space to run full face protection. 

At the toe of the stock, we come to the integral monopod, which can be deployed by loosening the prominent thumb screw on the right side. With the thumb screw loosened, you can extend the monopod to your desired length, tightening the screw to secure it in place. The monopod is designed to work with a bipod mounted to the front end, providing support for the rifle and elevating it above the ground for a more ergonomic shooting position and thus, better practical accuracy. 

The butt plate can also be raised and lowered to provide the perfect shooting position for a variety of preferences, body types and shooting positions. To adjust the butt plate, loosen the larger of the 3 Allen bolts on the butt plate (the bolt in the centre), position the butt plate where you like it, then tighten the Allen bolt down using the included Allen key to lock the adjustment in place. Having this amount of customisation built into a precision rifle stock is always nice to see, providing the most comfortable shooting position so the shooter can concentrate on landing that all-important shot. 

Inside, the King Arms R93 is largely a unique design due to its unique external appearance and realistic "straight pull" bolt action design. The good news for upgraders is that King Arms offers a range of upgrade parts specifically for the R93. The inner barrel, HOP-up bucking, and HOP-up nub are all standard AEG spec, giving you almost unlimited HOP-up and tightbore options for those who want to push performance to its peak. As it comes, the R93 hits out at an impressive 450 FPS using 0.20g BBs approximately, so rest assured this doesn't need upgrades to do its job well on the field.
