King Arms SAA .45 Peacemaker Revolver; The Buntline Special

The Buntline Special is an iconic American Western revolver. Its origin is debated, whether it's true or not. It was first spoken about in Stuart N. Lake's biography titled Wyatt Earp: Frontier Marshal. According to Lake, the author Ned Buntline had 5 of these revolvers commissioned by COLT, hence the Buntline Special, and then gifted them to five American Lawmen, the most well-known one being Wyatt Earp. According to Lake's heavily fictionalised biography, Wyatt was the only one who kept the revolver at its original 12" length.

The reason it is debated is that there are no modern historical records that confirm these pistols. They were eventually manufactured by COLT in 1956 due to customer demand, so anyone could get their hands on the Buntline Special. And now, you can get your hands on this ridiculously awesome revolver in Airsoft, courtesy of King Arms!

This revolver looks exactly like the real deal, minus the COLT trademarks, unfortunately. It matches the dimensions and unique look perfectly and comes in either black or silver, with faux wood or faux ivory grips, respectively. If you need a comically large revolver to prove a point, you won't find a better option!

At the front of the 12-inch barrel, you’ll find the fixed front iron sight. While simple by modern standards, it was considered revolutionary at the time. Being able to align your target with the barrel quickly made aiming much faster and shootouts far more efficient.

Moving down the extremely long barrel, we find the Peacemaker's cylinder. This is where you load the mock revolver shells. To access it, there is a part of the chassis behind the cylinder that flips to the side. To load your shells, you need to half-cock the hammer; this allows you to spin the cylinder freely to load all 6 shells.

Talking more about the hammer, its curved design and textured surface make it exceptionally easy to cock. Cocking the hammer will prime the trigger and spin the cylinder to the next bullet, making the revolver ready for shooting. All the hammer components are made from metal, so they are durable and hard-wearing.

The grip of the King Arms SAA .45 Peacemaker Revolver, The Buntline Special, is constructed from polymer, depending on what variant this is, either styled like wood or ivory. Both variants look incredible and realistic; it's impressive how good these faux panels are getting!

At the bottom of the grip, you will find the brass inlet valve. This is where you fill the grip with green gas so it can be shot. It is important to note that the hammer must be half cocked when you attempt to fill the revolver with gas; otherwise, it will pass straight through and out of the barrel. It is recommended that you only fill the pistol with gas if you intend to shoot it, as the hammer is sensitive to letting all the gas out when it isn't cocked.
