Description
The Lancer Tactical LT series of AEGs are a great introductory AEGs to start your journey as an Airsofter, boasting low weight in a rigid high density polymer design and pre-upgraded internals straight out of the box. The LT-15 is well equipped to provide superb accuracy thanks to its 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel paired with a modern rotary HOP-up unit, and also has fantastic shot-to-shot consistency thanks to its well-tuned gearbox.
The external design is that of a mid length M4 with an extended tightbore inner barrel running through most of the suppressor length, providing impressive accuracy and a slight deadening of the muzzle report to make you harder to locate. This means you get a compact package which can easily be manoeuvred around the cramped confines of a CQB site, but you can also reach out with impressive range and accuracy and take some names at long range when skirmishing outdoors!
The suppressor is constructed from polymer to keep the front end light and agile, avoiding the typical front-heavy feel of a suppressed Airsoft rifle. The suppressor can be removed and replaced with any 14mm CCW compatible muzzle devices, such as a tracer unit, or sound amplifying muzzle device, though you will need a 7-inch barrel extension to cover the exposed inner barrel revealed when the suppressor is removed.
The outer barrel itself is constructed from alloy to provide a solid backbone for the AEG and keep the tightbore inner barrel straight and well supported within. Surrounding the outer barrel we can find a polymer 20mm quad rail handguard providing ample Picatinny rail slots at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions in case you want to add a PEQ laser aiming unit or a tactical flashlight. If you prefer a simple setup, rail covers and vertical foregrips can also be mounted for improved ergonomics and a comfortable feel.
The iron sights come pre-installed and are flip-up aperture sights allowing adjustment for windage and elevation with two different apertures to choose from. The larger aperture is ideal for low light situations and CQB, and the finer aperture is intended for longer range engagements. These sights mount to the 20mm Picatinny rail on the top of the handguard and receiver and can be removed easily and swapped for any 20mm Picatinny compatible red dot sight or scope if you want a better view of your target, and a more elite look.
Like the handguard and suppressor, the receiver is constructed from high-density polymer with a fine textured surface finish. This not only keeps the rifle light and easy to run around with all day, but it reduces the effect of the small scratches which will inevitably form from use. Alloy receivers often show scratches far more, leaving bare metal beneath which looks scruffy. The LT-15 polymer receiver will retain its factory-fresh looks for far longer than most alloy receivers, as any scratches merely reveal more dyed polymer and no shiny bare metal!
The controls of the LT-15 will be familiar to anyone who has handled an M4 AEG before, and are optimised for right-handed use, though they can be used by lefties with a bit of practice. On the right side of the LT-15 is the magazine release, located on the magazine well. The mag release button is textured to ensure you can release your magazine in any weather condition and is a push-through design which sits well within reach of your trigger finger.
The upper receiver also features a triangular extension with a metal button at the end. This is known as the forward assist, and provides no function in an Airsoft AEG but can be pressed, adding realism by avoiding using a moulded in non-functional part.
The pistol grip is an "A2" finger ridged type featuring checkering on either side to provide ample grip for wet weather operations. This is a comfortable and familiar design to most and is perfectly suitable for most hand sizes, but can be swapped out for any M4/AR15 AEG pistol grip with the prerequisite technical knowledge.
The fire selector is positioned just above the pistol grip and provides 3 positions; SAFE, SEMI and AUTO. Each fire mode has a 90-degree throw between positions which is enough to operate the selector quickly while avoiding accidentally knocking it out of position. The fire selector is one of the best aspects of the M4 platform ergonomics and can be operated with ease thanks to being positioned directly beneath the shooter's thumb when the rifle is held in a firing grip.
Moving over to the left side of the receiver we can find the mock bolt catch sitting dead centre. The mock bolt catch provides no function for Airsoft skirmishing, but is a nice addition for realism, and being metal and a separate part avoids the tell-tale visual signs that this is a replica rifle and not the real deal.
This rifle features a rotary HOP-up unit which is easily accessed by pulling back the charging handle to move the realistic mock bolt carrier rearwards, revealing the HOP-up adjuster. The rotary HOP design is one of the latest innovations for the M4/AR15 platform and provides excellent stability and retains its setting reliably. The charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver, and features an extended latch, meaning you won't have trouble getting at your HOP-up adjuster in the heat of battle. The HOP-up allows you to extend the range of your BBs, and tune the LT-15 for different ammo weights, looking for the flattest possible flight path.
The stock of the LT-15 can be adjusted by holding the adjustment lever down and pulling the stock out to the desired length. This stock is a "crane enhanced carbine" style stock and mounts to a standard M4/AR15 buffer tube. The adjustment lever is located on the bottom of the stock and has texture on its surface for effective wet weather use.
The stock includes several sling slots and a QD sling socket on either side which can be paired with a 20mm RIS front sling point to mount a rifle sling. The butt plate is rubberised to allow for effective use with bulky tactical gear such as a plate carrier or body armour vest. The advantage of an adjustable stock is that the LT-15 can be setup for a wide range of body types, and can be compressed down for CQB use to make clearing corners that bit easier.
The battery compartment of the LT-15 is located within the crane enhanced carbine stock, and can be accessed by pressing the two tabs at the toe of the stock together, and pushing them through to the rear, after which the butt plate will come free. Inside you will find a mini-Tamiya battery connector which is compatible with a wide range of the most common Airsoft battery type.
Internally the LT-15 is brimming with pre-upgraded parts, which is a rarity for such an affordable AEG. Inside the LT-15 we are treated to a metal version 2 gearbox with 8mm bushings and a quick change spring system. The quick change spring system makes optimising the AEG's velocity for your local skirmish sites limits a piece of cake, allowing you to squeeze that extra little bit of performance from the LT-15 when needed. As with all Lancer Tactical AEGs, the LT-15 boasts a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel which improves air seal and accuracy and will raise the FPS slightly for a range improvement over standard 6.08mm inner barrels.
If you are new to the sport and looking for an easy and affordable way to get started, this LT-15 is a fantastic purchase and will see you well equipped to begin your Airsoft experience. The slick looks of the LT-15 with its integrally suppressed design is one thing, but packing in pre-upgraded parts for such an attractive price point makes us wish this was an option back when we started!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
