VORSK VMP-2C Compact GBB SMG

Boasting a full metal build and an aesthetic unlike anything else, the VMP-2C is the most compact variant of VORSK's modular platform, being barely bigger than a big pistol but packing full-auto firepower and immersive GBB recoil!

With a look which stands out on the field while blending perfectly with the other platforms in VORSK's VMP range, the VMP-2C is rocking a 20mm Picatinny railed upper ready for your optic, a 14mm CCW male threaded barrel for broad muzzle device compatibility, an M4/AR-15 GBBR compatible pistol grip and 1913/20mm Picatinny stock interface at the rear, making it as customisable outside as it is internally. As it comes, the VMP-2C may be small, but its TDC adjustable HOP-up unit and 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel make it remarkably effective for a pocket-sized SMG!

Starting at the front, we can find the unique VORSK 5-lug QD flash hider, slightly inset into the handguard for a lean, mean look. The VORSK 5-Lug allows the VORSK QD suppressor to be mounted, but will require a barrel extension to be mounted between the barrel threads and flash hider to clear the handguard.

To remove the flash hider, first remove the handguard via the 4 Allen bolts around its circumference, along with the grub screws on each side which connect to the receiver. Next, remove the 3 retaining grub screws in the flash hider and then unthread it, revealing 14mm CCW male barrel threads. Tracer units, suppressors and alternative muzzle devices are a go for the VMP-2C, but you may need to add a barrel extension if your suppressor or tracer is wider than the internal diameter of the handguard (approximately 40mm).

The handguard itself is constructed from alloy, a unique cylindrical design which is comfortable to hold and matches the squat, menacing aesthetic of the VMP-2C perfectly. Circular ports cover the handguard on all sides, providing a look simply unmatched by other handguards, giving off vibes of the legendary TEC-9 SMG with a modern makeover.

Running along the top, we have a 20mm Picatinny rail which extends rearwards to meet the receiver rail seamlessly, allowing for a red dot sight and even a rear-mounted magnifier setup to be mounted with space to spare. Pre-installed on the top rail we have a set of open light-enhancing iron sights with green inserts, giving you sights which are easy to acquire quickly and great for low-light shooting. The sights are removable in case you need all your rail space for other equipment but don’t take up much space when mounted and are very low profile, meaning you’ll be able to mount most optics without needing to remove them.

Moving down to the receiver, we can find an alloy upper receiver mated with a high-density polymer lower featuring VORSK’s unique V texture, matching perfectly with that of the stock. On the top of the upper receiver, we can find our TDC adjustable HOP-up dial, allowing you to tune the VMP-2C for various ammo weights and extend your range, seeking the flattest possible trajectory. The TDC design means the pressure is directly applied to the top of the HOP-up bucking, resulting in a stronger-than-average HOP-up effect and minimal side-to-side deviation. Both the HOP-up bucking and inner barrel are Tokyo Marui VSR/GBB spec, meaning the sky is the limit when it comes to upgrades!

The right side of the upper receiver features a flawless VMP-2 recessed marking with the iconic VORSK “V” logo alongside, discretely displaying its brand pedigree. Over on the left, we have our manufacturer markings with a unique serial number laser etched in white, great for theft prevention.

The mock ejection port is on the right side but the charging handle can be installed on either the right or the left, depending on your handling preferences and whether you are left or right-handed. The VMP-2C charging handle is also slightly longer than other variants, allowing you to get at this essential control quickly when working under pressure, even with gloves on.

Between the upper and lower receivers, you’ll notice a serrated catch present on either side. This is the bolt hold open/release catch, allowing you to manually lock the bolt open by pulling it outwards with the charging handle held back or release the bolt after the magazine is empty by pushing it in. The bolt catch is positioned similarly to an M4/AR-15 platform, meaning reloads will be relatively familiar for AR GBBR users but its presence on either side makes the VMP-2 far easier to work for left-handed shooters.

Present on either side of the trigger guard, we can find the three-position fire selector switch, offering 3 modes of fire; safe, semi-auto and full auto. The safe position is in the middle, with semi at the top and full auto at the bottom, with all modes indicated with colour-coded dot pictograms. The switch boasts a serrated surface and is easily within reach of the trigger finger, allowing for fast mode changes and “sights off, safety off” manipulation for the pros.

The magazine release is a dual-function design, offering an ambidextrous paddle magazine release on the bottom and an M4/AR-15 style push-through mag release on the left side of the magazine well. This means you have the option of using whichever mag release you’re most familiar with, similar to the legendary MP5 and G3 platforms. The AR-style release is a bit hard to reach from a firing grip, but is great for “strip and rip” retention reloads, while the paddle mag release can easily be reached from a firing grip with the tip of the trigger finger, whether you are left or right-handed.

Next up, we come to the pistol grip, which is a unique VORSK design with a more compact form than the average pistol grip, leaning into the specialism of the VMP-2C. Each side of the grip features a linear texture which matches well with the lower receiver and VORSK logos on each side. The VMP-2 chassis is confirmed to be compatible with aftermarket GBBR spec M4/AR-15 pistol grips as well as real steel AR-15 pistol grips, giving you loads of customisation possibilities so you can kit your rifle out to suit your exact needs!

On each side of the rear of the receiver, we are treated to steel QD sling sockets, ready for QD sling swivels to be added. We have already tested these sockets with the HASTA Adaptive Mission Sling Gen.4, and it works a treat, allowing you to make use of the receiver sockets for a single-point setup or the stock sockets if you prefer a two-point sling. QD Sling sockets allow you to quickly release or reconfigure your sling on the fly; a highly functional feature present in almost every modern firearms design.

At the very rear, the VMP-2C is equipped with a 1913/20mm Picatinny stock interface, essentially a vertically positioned 20mm Picatinny rail. While this rail opens up loads of possibilities when it comes to comedic setups and trolling, its true purpose is to allow MPX and MCX style stocks to be mounted and swapped out to suit the mission at hand. The interface can also be used to mount a sling point for a single-point "support sling" setup, just like the real steel MP5K. VORSK has its own range of 1913/20mm Picatinny compatible stocks on the way, so if you fancy adding a stock to this mean little platform, stay tuned!

Inside, the VMP-2C follows the VORSK modular build format, offering compatibility with a range of different nozzles for power tuning, alternate fire control groups, and, soon to come, external parts so you can get your VMP-2 setup for your exact needs. As mentioned, the inner barrel and HOP-up bucking are both GBB/VSR compatible, opening up almost unlimited accuracy and range upgrades, though the stock 6.03mm tightbore barrel already has the VMP-2C shooting above the average.
