If you are looking for an M4/AR15 with a super short front end for use in close quarters, or as a backup weapon for a Sniper or Support gunner, the LT-34 from Lancer would be a fantastic choice. The LT-34 packs all of Lancer's usual pre-upgraded internals into a more compact overall form which is perfect for fast moving, aggressive players, or any Airsofter who is looking for a specialised CQB tool to make clearing corners at kissing distance an absolute breeze. With a high speed motor and an ETU/MOSFET installed straight from the factory the LT-34 cycles with extraordinary speed, whether in it is set to full-auto or semi-auto. Paired with this we have a rotary adjustable HOP-up unit and a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel, meaning despite its super short front end the LT-34 can still reach out when needed.

Description

The LT-34 Battle Hawk from Lancer Tactical is a super short M4/AR15 AEG rifle with an emphasis on in-game performance and skirmish practicality. The LT-34 boasts full metal construction, a lightweight and short M-LOK handguard and the usual pre-upgraded internals found inside Lancer Tactical's Proline AEGs, including their ETU/MOSFET, a high speed motor, a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel and a rotary adjustable HOP-up unit to give this tiny AEG some respectable range. If you are eyeing up your next CQB primary, the LT-34 should be amongst the top contenders!

Starting at the tip of the super short 5-inch outer barrel we can find a birdcage flash hider, as is present on many M4/AR15 AEG rifles. The flash hider is constructed from alloy with a hard wearing matt black finish applied, as is the outer barrel. If you want to spice up the LT-34 with a different muzzle device, be it a muzzle brake, tracer unit or suppressor, you are well equipped to do so thanks to the common 14mm CCW male threading at the tip of the LT-34's outer barrel.

The handguard of the LT-34 is CNC machined from aluminium and sports M-LOK slots at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions, allowing M-LOK compatible accessories to be mounted as well as 20mm Picatinny rails for M-LOK in case you want to add 20mm railed accessories. The 12 o'clock position features a 20mm Picatinny rail with the central section cut out to reduce weight and keep the front end of the LT-34 light and pointable, as any CQB primary should be. Punctuating the M-LOK slots and upper rail, the handguard features angular ports which give the LT-34 a dynamic, skeletonised look. The upper rail runs back to meet the receiver rail seamlessly to allow for even the largest optics to be mounted, including red dot sight magnifier combinations. The upper rail also provides a spot for the included flip-up aperture iron sights to be mounted, either as a primary sighting system or left stowed in the folded position for emergency use.

The receiver of the LT-34 follows the standard M4/AR15 pattern, and is constructed from alloy for a realistic weight and feel and to provide additional strength. The finish applied to the receiver is a velvety feeling matt black coating which stands a much better chance of resisting scratches and dings from heavy use when compared to other receivers with just a thin paint finish. The controls appear right where you would expect them for an M4/AR15 rifle, with the fire selector sitting nicely just above the pistol grip on the left side of the AEG; perfect for fast operation with its 90° throw between each fire mode. The mock bolt release catch in the centre of the left side of the receiver is non-functional and is included for added realism. An M4 just wouldn't be an M4 without the ping-pong paddle! The magazine release is positioned on the right side, on the magazine well, and provides "drop free" functionality with most M4/AR15 AEG magazines on the market, allowing for swift speed reloads when needed.

The trigger provided on the LT-34 is a flat "speed" style trigger which is intended to be more forgiving and comfortable when the trigger is pulled quickly, and its built-in finger ledge goes one step further to help you keep your finger on the trigger regardless of how much you slap away at it! The trigger is protected within an enlarged trigger guard, which prevents protruding objects on your equipment or in your environment from causing accidental discharges whilst allowing fast access to the trigger even if you are wearing thick gloves. The pistol grip chosen for the LT-34 is the "Tango Down" style ergonomic pistol grip which is known amongst Airsofters and real operators alike for its comfortable profile and considerable ergonomic improvements over the original "A2" pistol grip.

The charging handle of the LT-34 can be found at the top rear of the receiver, and is an extended design to allow for easy access and one handed operation. Pulling the charging handle back will retract the mock bolt carrier, revealing the rotary adjustable HOP-up unit beneath it. This device allows you to vary the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and tune the LT-34 for the ammo weight you choose, aiming for the flattest trajectory possible. The rotary unit is a significant step up over the legacy "gear" unit in M4/AR15 AEGs, holds its setting flawlessly over long durations and allows for more precise adjustment of your BB's flight path. This superb HOP-up unit design is paired with a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel, which grants the LT-34 respectable performance at range for a pocket-sized M4.

As we reach the rear of the receiver we are treated to a steel "CQD" sling plate which provides sling mounting slots on either side of the AEG which are perfect for use with a single point "hook" style sling. Following the sling plate we can find the good old M4/AR15 6 position buffer tube, to which our crane battery stock mounts. This crane stock is a step above most, being constructed from rigid high-density polymer with a textured feel, and boasting a real QD sling socket on either side. These QD sockets can be used in combination with the QD sockets on the handguard and QD sling swivels (available separately) to allow you to mount a two-point sling which can be added or removed in seconds. The adjustment lever for the crane stock can be found at the bottom of the stock, the rear portion of which needs to be pressed to extend or collapse the stock.

The battery compartment of the LT-34 can be found inside the stock of the rifle and can be accessed by squeezing the two tabs protruding through the toe of the stock together and pulling the butt plate downwards and off to the rear. With the butt plate removed, you can pull the battery compartment plug in the centre out. Inside you will find a mini-Tamiya battery connector to which you mount your battery of choice. For the LT-34 we recommend a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo battery in nun-chuck configuration, though alternatively, the LT-34 can take a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo stick battery inside its buffer tube.

The internals of the LT-34 gives us exactly what we want for a CQB-optimised design. The LT-34 features an electronic trigger unit/MOSFET and a high speed motor to give it a brisk rate of fire in full-auto and exceptional trigger response in semi-automatic. The combination of a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel with a rotary HOP-up unit provides the range and accuracy needed to reach out, despite the LT-34's minuscule size. The gearbox itself is well tuned and sounds smooth and unlaboured when fired, thanks to its use of a ball-bearing spring guide and 8mm bushings to reduce gearbox noise and stress on the internals and gearbox shell. The snappy trigger response of the LT-34 is one of the most important features for a CQB weapon, and we are willing to bet the LT-34 can go as fast as practically anything else out there!

For those in need of a super short primary weapon, whether you are breaching rooms or laying down a hail of suppressive fire as you relocate to your next sniping hide, the LT-34 would be an asset to your kit. The ferocious rate of fire and trigger response of this AEG leans heavily into its role as a primary for aggressive "run and gun" play styles and with the LT-34 in hand, you can challenge almost any other out-of-the-box AEG thanks to its impressive pre-upgraded internals!
