This handguard is constructed from CNC machined aluminium and is a quad rail handguard, meaning it is rocking 20mm Picatinny rails at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions, ready for any 20mm Picatinny accessories you choose to mount.
Also featured on the SWS rail are a pair of QD sling sockets, right at the front, ready for QD sling swivels to be added for a slick quick detachable sling setup to save you time when swapping primaries mid-game. The SWS handguard is supplied with an aluminium barrel nut and steel mounting bolts, minimising unnecessary weight to keep you agile and able to compete with the M-LOK users. Description
The HASTA SWS Free Float 20mm RIS/RAS Handguard for M4/AR-15 is a free-floated quad rail handguard boasting considerable weight reduction across the design and more 20mm rail space than you will ever need! The handguard is constructed from CNC machined aluminium and is packaged with an aluminium barrel nut and steel mounting bolts.
At the front of the SWS, we are treated to QD sling sockets on either side, ready for QD sling swivels to be mounted for a modern sling setup which can be removed instantly. At the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions, we of course have 20mm Picatinny rails, though these rails are weight-reduced by removing practically all of the unnecessary material. The weight reduction not only makes the front end of your SWS-equipped AR far quicker to point than comparable quad rails but gives the SWS its own unique look, unlike anything else.
The advantage of a 20mm quad rail when compared to more modern negative space attachment interfaces is that you have access to a wide variety of 20mm Picatinny accessories which are usually cheaper than their M-LOK and KeyMod counterparts. Mounting lasers to quad rails also provides a far more reliable zero if you prefer your laser on the side. Unlike 20mm Picatinny rail sections for KeyMod and M-LOK, a free-floated quad rail will never loosen up over time, giving you the same solid and reliable mounting interface Western Militaries have relied upon for over a decade at the time of writing.
If you want to update your AR but don't want to get on the M-LOK and KeyMod bandwagon, the SWS Free Float 20mm RIS/RAS Handguard from HASTA is a great alternative!
