Full description

Description

The Lancer Tactical LT-19 series of AEGs are one of the best options out there for anyone new to the sport and hobby of Airsoft. The AEG comes out of the box sporting a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel, rotary HOP unit, and remarkable shot-to-shot consistency, pointing to a well-tuned gearbox and also providing excellent accuracy which is hard to find in an AEG at this price point!

The LT-19 PDW version is a shortened variant of the full length LT-19, optimised for CQB skirmishing. The addition of a Micro suppressor, mounted at the tip of the 14mm CCW threaded outer barrel gives this PDW the Honey Badger look, seamlessly integrating with the Polymer KeyMod handguard for a sleek, dynamic look. The suppressor can be removed and replaced with any 14mm CCW compatible muzzle device, such as a Tracer unit, or sound amplifier if you have a less discrete play style! The outer barrel of the LT-19 PDW is constructed from Alloy, guaranteeing strength and preventing the inner barrel from being bent or damaged.

Surrounding the outer barrel we can find a polymer KeyMod handguard, providing KeyMod slots at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions for mounting accessories and rail covers. The handguard also features a 20mm Picatinny rail which meets the receiver rail along the 12 o'clock surface, providing plenty of room for larger optical sights and RDS magnifier combinations. Out of the box the LT-19 PDW has 3 keymod rail sections installed at the front of the handguard which can be moved to any position on the handguard, keeping your setup flexible. The iron sights come pre-installed, and are polymer flip up aperture type sights featuring windage and elevation adjustment, and two different apertures to choose from. These sights mount to the 20mm Picatinny rail on the top of the handguard and receiver and can be removed easily or swapped for any 20mm Picatinny compatible iron sights, or a Red dot sight or another optical sight.

The receiver of the LT-19 PDW is constructed from high density polymer, providing scratch resistance and keeping the weight of the AEG down to only what is necessary to deliver its excellent performance on the skirmish field. The controls are optimised for right handed use, though they can be used by lefties with a bit of practice. The magazine release can be found on the right side of the AEG and is textured to ensure the button gets pressed when you need it. The trigger guard installed on the LT-19 PDW is an enlarged type, which is a nice added feature and allows the AEG to be fired easily even with thick gloves. The upper receiver also features a triangular extension with a metal button at the end. This is known as the forward assist, and provides no function in an Airsoft AEG but can be pressed, and adds to the realism of the LT-19 PDW. The pistol grip is an ergonomic type featuring texturing on the sides and front, and a refined grip angle to facilitate using the LT-19 PDW with the most modern, cutting edge shooting stances. Moving over to the left side of the receiver we can find familiar AR15 controls, with the mock bolt catch sitting dead centre and the fire selector being positioned above the pistol grip, within reach of the user's thumb. The mock bolt catch provides no function, but is a nice addition for realism, being metal and a separate part. The fire selector provides 3 positions; SAFE, SEMI and AUTO, and has a 90 degree throw between positions. The SAFE position provides a trigger lock, preventing the AEG from being fired unless the selector is in the SEMI or AUTO positions.

In order to access the LT-19 PDW's rotary HOP chamber, the charging handle must be pulled and held to the rear. This will move the realistic mock bolt carrier backward, revealing the HOP adjuster. The rotary HOP design is one of the latest innovations for the M4/AR15 platform, and provides excellent stability and retains its setting reliably. The charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver, and features an extended latch, ensuring you won't have trouble getting at your HOP adjuster in the heat of battle.

As we reach the rear of the AEG we can find one of the primary differences between this and the original LT-19 AEG. The compact PDW stock of the LT-19 PDW allows it to be stowed in much smaller spaces, used in a much more compressed shooting stance, and together with the micro suppressor attached to the outer barrel, completes the Honey Badger look. The stock is primarily constructed from alloy with a polymer butt plate and steel stock bars for additional strength. The adjustment lever can be found on the bottom of the stock, and allows the user to extend the stock to any one of four different positions, depending on body type and the scenario. The battery compartment of the LT-19 PDW can be found within the stock tube, which is attached via friction and two O-rings, ensuring a solid and waterproof battery compartment. The AEG is equipped with a mini Tamiya connector, and with the original battery compartment, it can house a 7.4V LiPo battery of up to 600 mAh capacity. Included with the LT-19 PDW is an extended battery tube, which can be swapped for the original and provides room for a 7.4V 1300 mAh battery, with the balancing factor that the stock can no longer be collapsed into its shortest position. The best method for removing the battery tube is to turn whilst wiggling it rearwards, after a few turns the tube should come free.

Internally the LT-19 PDW avails itself of all the enhancements found in the original LT-19, such as a metal version 2 gearbox with 8mm bushings and a quick change spring system. The quick change spring system makes optimising the AEG's velocity for your local skirmish sites limits a piece of cake, allowing you to squeeze that extra little bit of performance from the LT-19 PDW when needed. Whether you are new to the sport or a regular skirmisher looking for something light and compact, the LT-19 will find you well equipped to take on any Airsoft foe!
